The Brazilians and their students were at it again at the 2009 ADCC in Barcelona, Spain. In a pattern that has become typical of the international combat sports and submission grappling competition circuit, the groundfighting and submission techniques of BJJ grappling were by far the most dominant force on the mats in Barcelona this year. As competitions continue to blend the worlds of hand-to-hand combat, submission wrestling’s top fighters tend to come from BJJ grappling backgrounds.
